Privacy policy

1. Controller

2. Data we process

  • Website visits: server log data (IP address, browser, time) processed by our hosting provider for security and operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Newsletter: your email address, to send the emails you asked for (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Student account: your email address, a password hash and your login times, to provide the free account (login, news for members) (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Former paid memberships: if you had a paid membership before 31 October 2026, we keep the related data (name, email, contract and invoice data) only as long as needed to settle the contract and to meet statutory retention obligations (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR). New payments no longer take place. Card and bank details were entered only on Stripe's pages; we never saw or stored them.
  • Contact and cancellation forms: the data you enter, to answer your request or process your cancellation (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR).

3. Service providers and third parties

  • Netlify, Inc. (USA) – hosting, student and admin login (Netlify Identity), forms (Netlify Forms) and server functions (e.g. for market data).
  • Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. (Ireland) – was used for payment processing of former paid memberships and still stores the related invoices. Stripe may process data in the USA. Stripe's privacy policy: https://stripe.com/privacy
  • GitHub, Inc. (USA) – stores the website's content files. No visitor data is stored there.
  • Market data: to show prices, your browser connects directly to Kraken (Payward, live crypto and tokenized-gold prices), CoinGecko and Frankfurter (European Central Bank reference rates). These services receive your IP address. If a market-data subscription is connected, stock, ETF and spot-metal prices are loaded through our own server function, so the provider does not receive your IP address.
  • TradingView – charts load only after you click "Load chart". TradingView then receives your IP address and may set cookies.
  • YouTube (Google) – videos on the homepage load only after you click "Load videos" (privacy-enhanced mode, youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube then receives your IP address and may store data on your device. Links to our YouTube channel open YouTube in a new tab.
  • Transfers to the USA are based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or EU standard contractual clauses.
  • No Google Fonts, no analytics and no advertising cookies are used.

4. Local storage in your browser

Lesson progress, notes, quiz results, your watchlist and the light/dark setting are stored in your browser's local storage on your device. When you log in, Netlify Identity stores a login token there. You can delete all of this by clearing your browser data.

5. Retention

We keep data only as long as needed for the stated purpose or as required by law (for example invoices: 10 years under German tax law). Account data is deleted when you ask us to delete your account.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Contact: hijaziwerbung@gmail.com.
